The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (Tom Gormican, 2022)

Genre: Comedy
Rating: 3,5/5 stars

Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, Nick Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan. Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

This film is definitely different and unique. You can’t take it seriously as everything is meant to be over-dramatic, but the film can feel a little too choppy at some points. A small detail I found very intriguing is the references to old films which will keep any film buff entertained.

This film is hilarious, I cried from laughter.

Overall, the comedy and story are great. This film is superior because of the editing with the use of slow motion and blurs, however, the simple cuts and transitions are sometimes rush and disrupt the overall pacing of the movie.
