My music is available on all streaming platforms. You can also Google "Christineh" for options to listen & I have a website ZenningOut.com for more information about me, my music, merch etc. I am always working on new music and I am currently working on a bunch of songs as well. I have some other things going on that will hopefully come together soon.
Tell us a bit about your influences.
I have been influenced by so many different genres of music and so many different artists growing up and today. I'll definitely mention Gwen Stefani, Madonna & Niki Minaj as some of the most influential women artists for me. I grew up on Gwen and Madonna and I love Nickis style and all 3 of these women hold their own in the industry amongst men and it's inspiring for sure.
How did you start?
I have been writing lyrics and poems all my life and singing in the shower only lol. After I had a baby, it seems like the universe was calling to me and I had the strongest urge to make songs. I was always writing and thinking of melodies and eventually the pull was so strong that I felt I had no choice but to make it happen somehow.
What obstacles does an emerging artist have to face in our time?
The good thing about todays world in music is that pretty much anyone can make music. However, that also makes the market so saturated and I hear a lot of songs that sound the same or that piggyback off of other songs. So, the biggest obstacle I feel is to find a way to stand out and be memorable.
What worked for you marketing-wise? What advice or tips would you give to new artists?
Marketing is pretty tough. I mean it's not hard to do but if you want results you will have to invest the money. Luckily, social media is a great way to promote yourself without having to pay much money or any at all but it also means you have to put a lot of work into it. I have a lot of followers but it's still pretty hard to convert those people into listeners. But I do find that after some time of posting music, now those posts get the most attention so consistency is key.
What are your goals? Where do you see yourself in five years?
The thing about my goals is that I already live them out everyday which is to write, sing and make songs. But I want to do it on a bigger scale. It's been about 3 years now and 5 years from now I would like to be in a position where I can also write for other artists and where I can help artists who are coming up. I know how hard it is and so if I can help other artists someday that have the real talent, that is a big goal. I want my music to be heard by the whole world.
Tell us about your latest or upcoming release.
My latest release is Jet Set. This song is literally an ode to my travels around the world. When I was married we did a lot of traveling and experienced so many cool things and saw some beautiful places. We genuinely enjoyed our vacations and I would plan out some amazing activities, dinners and so on. So this song is just me reminiscing on those good times. It's a fun, chill, catchy song that a lot of people will like. Go listen now!
