Slipknot Boasts Sid Wilson From the Band

Effective immediately, Slipknot has severed ties with turntablist Sid Wilson, according to a social media post by the band, which was shared by Stereogum on August 14. The post read: “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.” No official comments were provided by the band regarding this decision.

Wilson joined Slipknot in 1998 and served as both keyboardist and turntablist. His departure follows a series of recent changes within the group, including Chris Fehn’s parting ways with Slipknot in 2019 due to unpaid claims he made, Craig Jones’ exit from the band in 2023 after serving for nearly two decades as a keyboardist and sampler, and Jay Weinberg leaving the band that year following creative differences.

The departure of these key members underscores ongoing personnel changes within Slipknot. In April, drummer Jay Weinberg spoke with Rolling Stone about his experience parting ways from the band, noting he sought to learn from this experience in future creative endeavors where he hoped to find greater camaraderie and respect among colleagues.
