Pterocat began as a conversation between two musicians who had arrived at the same idea from opposite directions. Thaïs Dahas, from Rio de Janeiro, moved to Atlanta in 2016, and the experience of migrating and finding community in another country and culture inspired her to make music. When she met Georgia-born musician Colby Granger in 2018, a strong connection formed around songs, and the pair have been playing, writing and performing together ever since. Now the band releases its debut full-length album, Slow Blink, on October 23, 2026.
