My Chemical Romance's frontman Gerard Way hinted during their Black Parade tour closing night in San Antonio that the band hopes to make a new album, their first since 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. 'We’ve always wanted to make another record,' Way said, addressing fans at the Alamodome show. 'You guys have kept us alive so long and deserve another record.' He emphasized that a new album may not happen anytime soon. 'It'll be awesome,' he added. Although this represents their most direct public acknowledgment of a potential fifth studio album since reuniting in 2019, no title, timeline or release date was announced.
The band has been touring to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Black Parade and has just released an expanded 20th-anniversary reissue set for Oct. 23 via Reprise Records that features bonus tracks and new art by James Jean. The current tour also marks a global stadium run titled 'The Black Parade 2026,' including dates across North America, the U.K., and Europe. Since their reunion, the band has released only one standalone single, 'The Foundations of Decay' in 2022.
