Moline, Illinois has produced a post-punk band with a clear sense of place. The House Flies, a four-piece with roots in goth rock, shoegaze, grunge and melodic guitar music, release their second full-length album, Lions and Ore, on Friday, 6 November 2026. The seven-track record moves between post-punk rhythms, quiet atmospheric passages and heavy guitar sections, and it keeps the band’s Midwestern identity at its core. The band’s second album is an ambitious step for a group that has built its reputation on directness.
