Resilience does not always look heroic, and Niel Lian's twelve-track solo piano album, Resilience in a World on Fire, is built almost entirely around that idea. Rather than framing resilience as some kind of triumphant resistance, the album follows a more intimate, non-linear journey through fear, healing, identity, movement, and small moments of light and gratitude, exploring themes of fragility, distance, absence and belonging, along with the many different ways people learn to live with uncertainty.
