Some songs are written to entertain; others are written because something needs saying. "Borrowed Peace," the latest song from ERICKOSCAR, belongs firmly to the second group. It was inspired by his father, who was an alcoholic, and by the way that addiction affected his mother, his siblings and himself, negatively, for decades. Addiction, as he sees it, is a hard thing to be rid of, and because alcohol is a legal drug, millions of people drink. The song describes how alcohol helps people escape their troubles momentarily, a peace that is only borrowed and lasts for a really short time.
